'Fiend' is a digitally driven solo performance that uses Nijinsky's 'Afternoon of a Faun' as a starting point to explore themes of connection, how we see and how we are seen.
The work is a collaboration between dance artist Tim Casson and video technician Tom Butterworth and uses innovative manipulation of live video to present multiple versions of the same performer that interact through well-timed choreographic action.
'Fiend' questions the idea of a solo performance as projected video reveals a magical world where the performer multiplies. As his actions are relocated in time and re-told in a new context, a very human character emerges, searching for connection in his virtual world.
