#FriendsFriday 49 - Deepraj Singh
How are you/have you been involved with Casson & Friends?
I am currently one of the artists working on a Casson & Friends micro commission, which consists of a project called ‘HumanFlipbook’, where people submit photographs of themselves in different shapes and I then construct them in to a solo. I was also involved with ‘The Dance We Made’ in Bristol.
What do you love about dance?
I love how much dance can connect us. How, whether you’re dancing or watching, you still feel a sense of openness and connection between the performers and the people observing. It encourages openness, and looking at people from a different perspective, which I have never found in any other medium.
What song always makes you dance? (We have a Spotify playlist!)

What else are you working on at the moment? (Upcoming performances, exciting projects, holidays!)
Here are some exciting things I’m working on!!
I am just about to start working for Rosie Kay Dance Company, for a movement version of Romeo & Juliet! (I’m playing Mercutio!)
I’m also creating a small piece to accompany some spoken word poetry with Saili Katebe for Nymphs and Thugs (An independent spoken word record label).
I’m thinking of my next creation for my YouTube channel ‘Dance Nomad’ (link below).
And as more of a regular job I teach improvisation for an amazing course in Bristol called ‘Boomsatsuma’ for 16 – 19 y/o’s.
Any links? (Links to your work, your company website, Facebook, Twitter, Soundcloud etc?)
