#FriendsFriday 53 - Ale Mariscalco
How are you involved with Casson & Friends?
I started collaborating with Casson & Friends in 2018, a couple of years ago, filming my first The Dance We Made in Brighton. Really fun concept, I was really happy to enter this world of performing and community togetherness. I’ve done more TDWM episodes since in Ipswich, Barnsley and London, and recently filmed and edited the dance film, ‘Is Now a Good Time’ for Casson & Friends.
What do you love about dance?
I can say with certainty that I started 'dance', if you can call it that way some very repetitive and not really creative jumping up and down, here in London. I finally overcame my shyness and realised how fun and liberating was just to follow the flow of music, like nobody was watching.
What song always makes you dance?
I'd mention three completely different songs: Hyperballad by Bjork, Seventeen by Ratatat (we go back to that meaningless jump up and down) and probably Radiohead's Lotus Flower (I guess Thom Yorke dancing is my kind of dancing)

What else are you working on at the moment?
In these odd times I am just following the flow, even though I am pondering of working on a new documentary. Just need to find the way to actually film it.
